Admin screen blank but can view website

  • When I log into my blog I am only able to see the sidebar on the left, everything else is blank. However I can actually see the website when I’m not logged in.

    Has anyone else experienced this? I am on quite an old version of WordPress, I think its 3.5. I have tried to upgrade before but I had to restore to a backup as the latest version messed with my theme.

    By the way, I have limited knowledge of coding.

    Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required–use FTP or your hosting account file manager). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
