Admin should see Purchase Buttons + Option Needed

    Hi there,

    One of the previously made updates (v3.7.30) included this: “Restrictions added for vendors to Quote, Review and Purchase their own products.”.

    1. Admins should be removed from this rule as they should see the ADD TO CART buttons of their created products.

    Right now if you are an admin and create products you are not able to see the Purchase buttons of your products. This should only apply to vendor users.

    2. Why there is no option to disable this? To let website admins decide if they want to disable it for vendors or not?

    Let’s clarify this as a lot of clients of us are asking what is happening and blames the theme (to cause, they say ‘this issue’).

    Hi @modelthemes,

    By default, when using the Dokan plugin, vendors or product owners are unable to purchase their own products. However, if you want to allow vendors to purchase their own products, you’ll need to add a couple of custom code snippets to your child theme’s functions.php file.     The 1st problem is that there is no option to disable the viewing permission of the Buy Now. (This can be solved by simply adding a notice: You are not allowed to buy your own product) when trying to buy something of their own.

    The 2nd problem (as we see it) is: It is better to see the product’s Add to cart button (since website owners see this as a bug) and limit them (as mentioned on point 1 with a notification). This cand be solved with a plugin option: example: Permission to See the add to cart (owners).

    I understand your requirement and it’s importance in your marketplace. Sometimes vendors purchase their own products, which can affect the calculation, and they may also put their own reviews after purchasing their products. To address this, we have removed the add to cart button from vendors’ own products. Once vendors add their products, they can display them from another browser or from the customer end. This could be a potential solution for your scenario.

    You can do whatever you want but the feedback is not from a single store/or our store.

    We are a theme development company with thousands of clients with Dokan and multiple complaints were received because of this.

    You can close this for now!

    Thank you for the suggestion. With the most recent Dokan plugin update, the product notice now appears differently. As this is your own product, the “Add to Cart” button has been removed.
