• After migrating my domain from a German host, 1&1, to Swedish, one.com, my WordPress admin site is gone. I haven’t been able to upload my database and files to the new host yet. I wanted to get the backup I did in WordPress but I can’t find my site anymore. it only says:

    “Not Found

The requested URL /wp-admin/ was not found on this server.”

I did not close my account on the German server yet, only requested the migration of the domain to a new server. The admin site stoped working same time as migration occurred.

What can I do? How can I find my backup?

    Thanks, Anna

Have you changed your DNS to point to the new host?

When you say “migration” I understand it as the DNS now points to your new server.
Chances are good that all your files and your database are still intact with your previous host.
You need to download all files (yes, you may skip some files, for instance WordPress Core files, but better safe than sorry). This you can do via the FTP protocol. A popular free program for this is FileZilla. In your adminpanel for your previous host, you should be able to find or configure details for how to connect via FTP.
And you need to download a full database backup. Again, look in your adminpanel from your previous host (and I’m not talking about WordPress admin panel here, but the customer self-service panel of the host) for PHPMyadmin.
Note that some settings in your WordPress configuration may not work correctly right out-of-the-box. For instance caching and security plugins may need to be configured again.

PS! There is an alternative way to move just the content: namely to “export” from the previous site and “import” to the new.
But in order to do this, you’ll need to still login first to your old site.
You may be able to do this by temporarily adding an entry in the file “hosts” on your own computer in order to point it to your previous server. Once the export is ready, you delete that line in “hosts” and connect to the new site. If you take this route, then you need to first install WordPress, and accept that you need to setup the sites theme, etc. again.

I read your question once more.
It seems you’ve made a full backup of your old site. That’s good.

How did you do that backup? If you unzip the backup, do you see WordPress core files, or not? If they are there, then you can just enable FTP on your new host and upload everything with FileZilla.
If the backup mostly contains the directory /wp-content/ then you first need to install WordPress on the new site.

    Careful with wp-config.php.
The old file may contain important information, but the details about how to connect to the database will need to be corrected, for instance…
