    Hello ??

In the pétition configuration there is the first field “email cible / target email” in English?

    And it is mandatory.

I want the people who sign the petition to receive an email.

But as an admin I don’t want to receive it.

    Is that possible ?

    Thank you ??

Unless you have your email address as either the target email or a CC, you shouldn’t receive a copy of the petition when it is signed.

    Does that answer your question?

Hello and thank you for your reply ??

Unfortunatly it doesnt help because the “target email” is mandatory :

The way online petitions generally work is that when a person signs it, the petition e.g. “Please build a playground”, is sent to the target, e.g. the mayor. The target email address would be the Mayor’s email.

If you don’t want to email the petition when it is signed and only want to collect signature to perhaps print a list and send them all to the mayor at once, then you should select “Do not send email (only collect signatures)”.

Oh, ok, yeah the “admin/mayor” for my case do not need to receive the confirmation email

But i still want the person who signed the petition to receive a confirmation email

In that case you should go to dashboard > SpeakOut! > settings > Display BCC field and check the box to display the BCC option. Then the signer will receive a copy of the petition.

I triple checked it and if i tick the box “only collect email” and have the bbc option on

The person who sign the petition do not receive a copy.

But it works if i untick the box in the admin “only collect email”

Hmm…this may be a bug. I will investigate. It will take some time as I am on holiday right now without access to all my resources.

    Thanks for letting me know

No worries, i am keeping the box in the admin panel ticked as i want to be sure to send a “thank you” copy to the people who voted.
I actually use that section just for the “thank you” email and i am not using the shortcode in front end.
In the front end i just write the content of the petition.
I am French and there is no way and no interest in sending directly mails to the person or institution we want to sensibilise/contact about a cause.

We need the signature on paper and then contact them.

Sending them directly email would be ignored.
I am sure this is the same thing in many countries.

But anyway, yes there look to be a bug, not major for me but it just uses 2 mails for one “vote” to the petition.
One to the admin of the website, as i need that field with a value and one to the person who did sign the petition.
The admin do not need that confirmation.

And emails have a cost so if we could avoid that one… ??

But no rush, your plugin is great and is doing a great job for us.
Thank you very much and enjoy your holidays ??

    Laurent
