Admin Updates redirects to promotional material

  • After update, I am now unable to access /wp-admin/update-core.php as is redidected to the following page that advertises Cookie Compliance:

    /wp-admin/index.php?page=cookie-notice-welcome

    Web site operating on latest versions of Plugins, themes and WordPress.

    Any suggestions gratefully received

    Hi there,

    The upgrade to Cookie Compliance is optional.
    It’s up to everybodys choice whether one needs beeter GDPR and CCPA compliance or not.

    If you don’t upgrade it says that Compliance is inactive (because it is not)
    But it doesn’t mean the plugin in it’s free form stopped working – it works just as before.

    Have you any suggestions as to how I can get access to my Admin Update panel again as it remains stuck on the Cookie Compliance advert

    Alas, I tried that before but I still keep getting diverted to the advert on trying to get to the Admin Updates page. Have cleaned out th cache but all to no avail

    Plugin still works for me … but just cannot access Admin Updates … which is pretty fundamental

    @paviland you should not be redirected to the upgrade screen more than once, there is no intention to do that. tested in dozens of websites and never had an issue like that.

    @shannonentin just remove the APP ID and Secret Key and Save the settings. It will bring back the regular Cookie Notice settings.

    For reasons unknown, on revisiting today, the banner is no longer showing when I go to Admin Updates

    Curiouser and curiouser … but a satisfying outcome
