• The admins of a website I created are having this problem in the back office: they can see every section they’re allowed to (including custom post types) but not list of Pages (/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=page).

This admins’ roles are one Editor and one Administrator (this last one I created myself for my colleague).

When I log in as Administrator (with my own, orginal, account) I can see everything, including the pages list, but when I do log in with my colleague’s account (also role Administrator) I no longer see the pages’ list. If checking the source code the only line I can see is

    <!– ngg_resource_manager_marker –>

    and nothing more.

So I tried to deactivate NextGEN and everything appeared again. As soon as I re-activate NGG the blank screen appears again in /edit.php?post_type=page.

The nextgen-gallery version I’m using is 2.0.66.37 (updated two days ago from 2.0.66). I also tried to completely remove the plugin and adding it via FTP or even to reverse to 2.0.66 but same problem. We’ve also cleared our browser’s caches and re-installed WP 4.1.

The strange thing to me is that this blank pages happen to other admins but not to me. I can understand for an Editor who could be missing some capabilites (checked, anyway) but for the other Administrator who’s supposed to have the same capabilites as myself that’s weird.

Thank you if you can give an hint.

I must add something that I realized only now and that maybe could have a role in the issue.

Before upgrading to 2.0.66.37 we were facing a problem related to NextGEN in the website (total blank pages both in front- and back office), so I changed the folder name to plugins/DEACT_nextgen-gallery in order to temporarily get access to back office, then I changed the folder’s name back and made the upgrade.

@webartisan – You might want to look at re-installing NextGEN Gallery as a possible solution although I would first recommend using the Reset Option under Gallery > Other Options. In this case, it will help by resetting all of the Roles&Capabilities options to “Administrator”. You can then re-test your other users and/or use the Reset Option before re-testing.

@cais – Thanks for your reply. I’ve tried first the Reset option as you suggested, this reset everything to default including Roles&Capabilites that went all to “Administrator”.

Then I tested with my colleague’s Adminitrator account and didn’t work.

I also tried to remove NGG and re-install again but no luck.

I even discovered that this admin (Administrator) user can neither edit a NextGEN gallery as well (i.e. Manage Galleries /wp-admin/admin.php?page=nggallery-manage-gallery&mode=edit&gid=1&_wpnonce=55fe80487f). The page says only that “Connection has expired” and links to login but I’m still connected.

As before, if I log in with my own account (Administrator as well) everything works fine.

Thank you for any additional hint.

@webartisan – Does this all happen if you go to a baseline of a default WordPress Twenty series theme and (deactivate *all* plugins, then reactivate) NextGEN Gallery only?

Something seems to have affected these secondary accounts and there is nothing within NextGEN Gallery that would do that.
