    Hi All,

I’ve just upgraded a simple few-page-site from 4.* to 5.3.2, and lost my admin backend as a result, now I get a blank white page of death (in Safari) or “This page isn’t working” 500 error (in Chrome).

To try to resolve this I uploaded the latest Theme (2017) files via FTP, and removed the couple of plugins that were installed, but neither of these helped.

The front (public) side of the site works fine, I just can’t do any editing or admin. The login screen works normally, but when I log in I get the white screen again.

And needless to say (!) I don’t have a backup.

Any suggestions for what I could try next?

    Thanks,
    robaa

Can you check your server PHP error log?
Anything Fatal near to end of file?

Hi, thanks. There don’t appear to be anything relevant in the log.
