Administrator Has Left

  • Our users can seem to post, but we cant log in as the administrator as they have all left a few years ago!

    Is there a central admin group who could help us?

    This article lists 7 completely different ways to reset your password. Any one of them will work and do the job. Find the one that’s right for you and use that: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Resetting_Your_Password

    As long as you have access to the hosting account itself, you can recover the WP admin login.

    Thank you we should be able to get it back from here.

    One of the issues, which why we are investigating, is that users who post, can no longer do so, but can still log in to their account, any ideas?

    Check their role and, also, see if other users can post.

    Thanks, that’s why we needed the admin account, as it looks like the creator left a few years ago. I wont be able to get access to the PHP site until a weeks time.

    It seems as no users can post, and no one has logged in to change anything.

    Contact the host and then see my first reply. As long as you can show your paying for the hosting, they should give you the necessary access.

    Yes I believe it was created by one of my IT colleagues, who is on holiday, so this might be the easiest solution to wait for him to return to confirm.
