Is it really necessary to reset the user roles to Admin only with each update? I have a dozen + reporters that are stopped dead in their tracks because the expirator is gone. I have to go in and add the other users.

Also – I don’t really understand “Default Date/Time Duration > Post/Page publish time. Doesn’t that mean it will expire immediately – publish time?? That’s what happens when we use it.

    Hi @daffydd57

What do you mean by reset the user roles to admin?

However, update should not break the plugin functionality. If it does break, please let me know the issue in detail and how to replicate the issue.

While for Default Date/Time Duration it will set the default expiration date to be used when creating new posts and pages

What I mean is that with each update – in the Advanced tab > Choose which user roles can use PublishPress Future it resets back to only the Administrator can use it. Where before the update I had all but “subscriber” checked.

What does Default “Date/Time Duration > Post/Page publish time” do? I know with Custom setting I can set default. I don’t know what Post/Page publish time is about.

    Thanks

Hello, unfortunately I just noticed that when I click save under the default settings, the rights are reset to the administrator

Hi @miron666 @daffydd57. Thanks for reporting this. I presume you’re talking about this setting? “Choose which user roles can use PublishPress Future”

This isn’t something we can see in our testing.

Please let us know more about this:
    – What PHP version do you have?
    – Does it help if you install an older version of PublishPress Future?
    – Can you see this on a second site?

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved. If you have any further questions, please reply again here, or you can start a new thread.

What PHP version do you have?
    PHP version = PHP 7.4 (ea-php74)

Does it help if you install an older version of PublishPress Future?
It’s done this for several versions now. I don’t have time to go through each to find where it started.

Can you see this on a second site?
It happens on all of our WP sites.

It doesn’t sound like you’re on top of this, so we just have to remember to set the user roles with each update.

    Hi Daf,

We still unable to see this happening on our testing even when using the same PHP version as yours. It might be affected by others plugins. You can find out by deactivating others plugin one by one.

The only plug we use is the PublishPress Future. So won’t be a conflict issue.

We will just know to change user roles back if we update.

    Hello,

I use WCFM Multi Vendor Plugin. I set only Administrator on Advanced configuration but it seems Vendors are also see Post Expirator when they publish product.

How can I hide Post Expirator from front end non-admins please?

    Thank you.
