I have taken over a site using this plugin but after changing the admin password in the database (I did not have access to the old admin password) I cannot access the backend of the site. After logging in in I am redirected to a private user post for my admin user, I have tried creating a new admin user in the db and the same thing so I am unable to access the wp admin area at all.

    I have tried :

    disabling the client portal plugin

    disabling all plugins

    create new htaccess file

navigating directly to wp-admin url once logged in (message – you do not have permission to view this page)

I just need to know how to disable or bypass the redirection to the private post for specific admin users without access to the backend to do so.

Thank you very much for your help with this in advance

    Hi @darkferrett,

Regarding “navigating directly to wp-admin url once logged in (message – you do not have permission to view this page)“. That most probably means the user account to which you’ve changed the password in the DB is not an Administrator. You can check the information from here regarding this: https://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-add-an-admin-user-in-wordpress-using-ftp/.

Also, if you disable/deactivated the Client Portal plugin, then that redirect (from our plugin) will not occur anymore. So if you disabled the Client Portal plugin and still encountered this redirect issue, then that means this is not coming from our plugin and it’s related to something else.

    Best regards,
