• I dedicided to stop using Yoast on all my new sites a while ago and left it only on those sites, where I was too lazy to change it to something else.

The reason was it’s heaviness, insane udate policy, extensive advertisements and general intrusive manner all over the dashboard (for example, I really don’t need a crazy big notice to buy PRO, when I change a page URL, or to see warnings when I enter the permalink settings).

On the other hand, I understood, that the plugin is not bad, it’s just not my cup of tea.

BUT – your last intervention with gigantic, ugly and animated banner all over the dashboard really crossed all the lines and left me no option but to come here for a rant!

YOAST, this is way too much! You don’t own my dashboard!

  • Hi @blackeye0013,

    Thanks for your comment.

We understand that the Black Friday banner was annoying. Although it was dismissable, it was a bit buggy so we listened to our community and yesterday we publicly apologized for any inconvenience this may have caused to our users (link to Twitter) and released Yoast SEO v12.6.2 which completely removes the banner from the admin panel.

We appreciate your taking the time to send your feedback.
