Few days ago, my website was under review in google adsense and as I was struggling to connect website with adsense account using google site kit ( to have ads codes pasted) I eventually pasted the codes manually in header.php file
    see screenshot here

Today, my website got approved from adsense and I successfully connected adsense service in google site kit with adsense account. During the process, it said “site kit has place adsense code on your site to connect your site to adsense and help you get the most out of ads”
    see screenshot here

    my question is
    1. do i have to manually remove the adsense code that is currently in header.php?
    2. what if i do not remove any code and don’t make any changes?
    3. is there any risk if i now remove the code manually
    4. with the present condition, i see ads showing on my website but the problem is that ads are showing up only on homepage of website and that too on mobile view rest blog and article pages are not showing up any ads (there are only spaces created between site name and h1 title of the article. so how to fix this issue?

Hello @sonu0293 thank you for getting in touch and providing a detailed description of the steps you have taken. I’d be happy to answer your questions.

    1. do i have to manually remove the adsense code that is currently in header.php?

This is up to you. You can leave the manually placed code and Site Kit will pick this up and use that placed code. If you have a manually placed code then Site Kit should not place code by default. If you go to Site kit > Settings > Connected Services > AdSense and edit you will see the option for Site Kit to place code. If you choose to let Site Kit place code then I would advise removing the manually placed code from your header.php file.

    2. what if i do not remove any code and don’t make any changes?

There shouldn’t be an issue if you leave the manually placed code as Site Kit will pick this up and use it if you have connected AdSense. As mentioned above you remove this and allow Site Kit to place the code but that’s up to you.

    3. is there any risk if i now remove the code manually

There is no risk to removing the code you have added to the header.php file but if you do make sure that you allow Site Kit to place the code instead from the AdSense module settings as mentioned in my answer to question 1.

    4. with the present condition, i see ads showing on my website but the problem is that ads are showing up only on homepage of website and that too on mobile view rest blog and article pages are not showing up any ads (there are only spaces created between site name and h1 title of the article. so how to fix this issue?

For help with the placement of ads and how they function on your site I would recommend reaching out to the AdSense Help Center. Site Kit only places the code required for AdSense and it seems you have connected the AdSense module successfully so the people at the AdSense Help Center should be able to help you further with any issues regarding Ads placement and functionality.

Hope this has helped to answer all your questions and please do let me know if you have any further issues or questions with the Site Kit plugin and I will be happy to help you with those.
