    Hello dear Complianz team,

Having noticed the total disappearance of Adsense income since December 17, I searched a little Google Site kit. My publisher code was not appearing in the pages when everything else was ok, I kept digging, and using Troobleshoot mode, it appears that Complianz was the only plugin with that effect.

I changed a parameter (Respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control? No) and then the code appeared as follows:
    data-cmplz-src=”https://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/pagead/js/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-blablabla&host=ca-host-pub-2644536267352236″

But on the one hand the ads still do not appear, and on the other hand the consent banner no longer appears.

I put Yes back and again the code doesn’t show up anywhere (the banner is back and clicking Accept doesn’t show the ads).

Am I configuring Complianz incorrectly to not have Adsense working properly (i.e. when users click Accept)?

    Hi @hamil1,

This is not something Complianz interferes with, as we only block or unblock firing a script, not how this script is eventually sending data to Google.

However, I could imagine the following; Google Site Kit sets the UA code with anonymize_IP on true. Filtering on IP might not work correctly, as it behaves different from GA4 implicit anonymization of IP’s.

I’m not sure if this is something you can manage in Google Site Kit, but on the filtering part this is an article I came across; https://www.advance-metrics.com/en/blog/how-to-filter-internal-traffic-with-anonymized-ips-in-google-analytics/

@sophiaknows @hamil1 hoping for your input, we’d like to make an additional adjustment to the copying of attributes. In response to this thread.

    • Originally, no attributes were copied.
    • In response to your reports, we’ve excluded some specific attributes, but not the ‘async’ attribute.
    • As the user below still reported issues, I’ve now removed the ‘async’ attribute from the copy script as well.

Would be great if one of you can confirm this addition doesn’t cause any issues!

    Hi @rogierlankhorst,
I have the modified plugin on the site. It works, the AdSense ads are showing.

@hamil1 thanks for checking! (just to make sure: you have downloaded the latest version of the branch I posted today?).

Hello @rogierlankhorst I just put the latest version you provided, it had a weird effect (displayed ads for visitors, not for admin, then not at all), I tried troubleshooting mode and got the message “When activating the plugin, complianz-gdpr, an error occurred. Because of this the change was automatically reverted.” The site was completely broken in the troubleshooting preview, even with the Complianz plugin disabled. I exited the troubleshooting mode and everything seems ok (the ads code is displayed). Can I monitor this for a few hours and tell you later if it’s really ok?

Hello @aahulsebos and thanks for the hint, I’m in contact with Google support to find out what’s going on with this IP blocking issue.

@rogierlankhorst i downloaded the files that appeared after clicking on the link above. The name of the complianz-gdpr-logging-of-attributes folder.

    @hamil1 great! Sounds good then.
