    Hi,

We’re moving over from Google Ads Manager to the Advanced Ads plugin. We’ve set up the placements and ads. I have started by trying to get the MPU2 ad to display and once I’ve got that sorted I’ll do the rest. I’ve added the relevant PHP code for a manual placement ad in the place in the theme where I want the ad to appear. My understanding is that I don’t need any code in the header as well.

But the ad is not displaying. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi babblebird01

    Thanks for reaching out.

Please test the ad placement and the ad code separately. You can use a simple image or dummy ad to verify the placement is working as expected. If the placement works and the ad code works without Advanced Ads as well, we can narrow down the issue.

For your Google Ad Manager ads, I recommend using the debug console to collect specific information about your ad units. This helps to gain more details about the container or the matching slot.

Your front page also shows an error related to Quantcast, if you’re integrating your ads with a consent tool, please also verify this works as expected and does not prevent any ad codes from executing.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,
    Henning

    Hi,

Thanks for coming back to me so quickly. Ok, so, if I set up a dummy ad and plug the shortcode directly in to a post it appears.

If I plug the php code into the header (the Options section of the WordPress site to be more specific) for that particular ad, it does not appear. Same if I try to add a manual placement.

    Any ideas?

    Hi babblebird01

I recommend verifying if the ad code is meant to be placed in the head section or in the content of your page. By testing this with and without Advanced Ads you can rule out potential issues with the code itself.

With Advanced Ads you can make use of the header placement or a content placement if needed.

    Best regards,
    Henning

    Hi,

The PHP code doesn’t seem to work, whether I put it in the header or the body. Can I just confirm my code looks correct:

    <?php if( function_exists(‘the_ad_placement’) ) { the_ad_placement(‘mpu2’); } ?>

It just shows up in the page, wherever I put it.

    Thanks.

    Hi there,

I can confirm the PHP code should load the placement “mpu2” as awaited.

Does this also apply for the general ad injection via placements? Please test other ones like the header placement or manual ad injections via shortcode to see if there is something not working generaly. If possible, you can create and share a non indexed page with the actual ad integration on it, and I would be happy to take a closer look.

Please also test this using a dummy or image ad as well to see if there is about injection ads or with the code, itself.

If you want to use Advanced Ads to implement your GAM ads this tutorial might also be helpful.

    Best regards,
    Henning
