• I would appreciate some advice.

I run a small BLOG for my local Writers Group and we help support it by hosting Google ads and Amazon ads, it pays the bill with a little over

Anyway, yesterday I was doing some work on the blog and noticed that Google ads that I’d placed on the blog weren’t working. I knew Google were doing some maintenance work so I thought that might be the cause and thought nothing more of it. Later on in the evening the ads were still down so I contacted a friend and asked him to check the sites, he could see the ads quite plainly so presumably something is wrong on my computer. The ads are still down on my computer.

The friend suggested that maybe I had put up a blocking script by mistake but I don’t think this is the case as I can’t see the ads in either IE or Firefox and I can see other adds. Checked in Firefox Add Ons and no blocking script there there. I do all my blog work in Firefox. I’m running the current version of WordPress.

It had been suggested that I turn off the modem overnight and get a new IP address, and that I log into my router and release the IP address. Not to sure how to do this. My service provider is Freedom2Surf and my wireless router is a Netgear DG824M.

Again with the help of my friend I went to cmd.exe and typed
    ipconfig /flushdns
    then
    ipconfig /registerdns

It came up with the message: Registration of the DNS resource records for all adapters of this computer has been initiated. Any errors will be reported in the Event Viewer in 15 minutes.

    C:\Windows\system32>

I’ve went to the event viewer but to be honest I wouldn’t recognize the fault if I saw it! Both my friend and I are really only groping in the dark. Any suggestions as to what might be happening.

As always many thanks for help offered.

    Kevin.
