Ads showing in places not set by plugin

    I’ve noticed ads are appearing in places that I haven’t set them to, including a massive banner ad under the nav menu. Initially I tried disabling the plugin but the problem remained. I then checked and edited block ads so they wouldn’t place but the problem remained. I then spoke to my hosts who say even though the plugin looks disabled it actually isn’t and when they try to disable it throws out an error.

    Warning: Could not deactivate the ‘ad-inserter’ plugin.
    Success: Deactivated 1 of 1 plugins.

    So according to wpengine the plugin is still active.

    In the end I had to remove my site from my adsense account to get it to stop.
    I’ve used this plugin for sometime without issue. I want to use it again but can’t have random ads placed all over the site on their own. Any ideas on what’s going on and how I can fix this please?

    Hello,

    it seems there are issues on the plugins page.
    Try to deactivate the plugin by clicking on Just Deactivate button.

    Yes I am still having issues. I use Ad inserter on multiple sites and it’s started happening on another one now. Ive enabled remote dedugging. https://unitedinnormandy.com

    This site is running Version 2.5.2. However the first site which has same problem is using the latest version.

    It seems that there are ads placed by Auto ads.

    Auto ads now work through any ad code. Even pages that only contain regular ad units now show Auto ads if you enabled Auto ads for that site or a portion of it.

    Login to your AdSense account and disable Auto ads.

    Or if there are specific pages you don’t want Auto ads on, please add those URLs to your Page exclusions.

    Ads > Overview shows you a summary of your Auto ads settings for each of your sites.
