Site Kit does not seem to be placing my ads.txt file in my root directory, as it states under the Adsense Connection. I need to use a separate plug in to do it. If I deactivate the other plug in, I get an alert that Adsense can not detect the ads.txt file. And it is correct because the url returns.Page Not Found – IMK (insuremekevin.com) When I reactivate the Advance Ads plugin the ads.txt is restored. How do I get Site Kit to place the ads.txt file in the proper place so I can delete the other plug in?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Thanks for getting in touch @insuremekevin. Site Kit will insert your AdSense ad code on your site, however, it doesn’t insert any ads.txt file.

In order to place an ads.txt guide on your site, you can follow this guide. There are also some third party WordPress plugins that can do this for you.

There is also an open GitHub issue in relation to basic ads.txt integration within Site Kit. You can subscribe to this below, or add your own comments if you wish:

Let me know if you have any further questions with the above.

Thank you for the clarification. That makes perfect sense that Site Kit doesn’t place the ads.txt in root directory. Wish thinking on my part. The note in Site Kit means that it ‘has’ been placed, not that the app did it.
