• In applying for Adsense, they say “if your accepted”.

Is there a certain criteria a site has to meet, like minimum amount of hits?

    Thanks!

  • They mostly look to make sure you have appropriate content. (Not adult, gambling, tobacco or weapons sales. Probably some other things. They may not take a site that is just a diary type blog with no non-personal content.) They take relatively low volume sites with a couple hundred hits a day, but there may be a cutoff.

And remember, the Yahoo Publisher Network is in business as of last week, so you may want to apply there, too.

Ok, thanks. I was thinking of putting it on a new blog so there won’t be too many hits until after a while.

If you have an existing site that has more traffic, you can sign up for that site and then use it on the new site, too. So long as your new site doesn’t violate the TOS, you can run the same account across multiple sites. (In fact, I believe it’s required to only have one account no matter how many sites you have.)

I’ll use my busier site then when I sign up. I had Adwords a while back and they were pretty strict about wording and which words I used.

And thanks for the tip about Yahoo ads, I’ll check that out too.
