• First, thank you for the beautiful theme!

I’m having an issue getting my Adsense ad to show up in the header of my blog. https://YETInvesting.com. I’m using the Google Adsense Plugin, and the ads on the sidebars or in the body of the page will show up just fine, but the one in the header never seems to work. It works in the preview screen, but if I save it and go to the website regularly, the ad never shows. It only happens to the ads that get placed in the header area.

I tried manually inserting the adsense code in the header, but that didn’t work either. Any ideas? Thank you in advance for your help!

  • Could be because the plugin loads from the body so doesn’t have enough time to load up the header.

Does the issue persist on another theme like the Twenty Fifteen theme?

Hmm. I can’t really test it with the Twenty Fifteen theme because it doesn’t have a header in the same area. In that theme, it’s on the top left of the page, whereas with Shamrock, it’s across the whole top of the page. I tried going live with the Twenty Fifteen version of the site instead, and the AdSense plugin was suggesting ads in the area where the posts are, not in that top left corner.

I’ve been monkeying around with it more, and I’ve found that I can place an ad at the very top of the page, before my header content, and I can also place it in between my header image and the menu bar, but where I want it is just below the menu bar. AdSense shows it as an option, but that’s the spot where it only shows in the preview and never shows on the live page. So frustrating.

I guess if I can’t find a fix for it, I will put the ad between the header image and the menu bar, but it just looks really dorky there, and breaks up the visual continuity of the header area.

    I have the same problem.

Also, ads are not showing in the middle of posts or pages. It looks like the google plugin doesn’t recognize where a paragraphs ends and where the next one starts. The complete post/page is just one large paragraph where there is no place to insert an ad.
