1-2 times per week Adsense gives me this error: “Earnings at risk – You need to fix some ads.txt file issues to avoid severe impact to your revenue”

I then choose ‘fix now’ and find “your site is ready to show ads” “ads.txt was not found” and “last crawled: not applicable” “check for updates”

I then click on “check for updates”, it finds ads.txt and everything goes back to normal for a few days.

This has been occurring for months and I can’t figure out how to fix it permanently.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out.

If your ads.txt us showing fine and the manual checks are also removing this message, I assume maybe a server setting messing with the crawler checking your ads.txt automatically.

For example, if your domain is only accessible through https://www.yourdomain.tld and not also using .yourdomain.tld

While it looks from your description that the error message “Earnings at risk – You need to fix some ads.txt file issues to avoid severe impact to your revenue” appears very frequently, you may want to try using a static ads.txt file and switching from the Advanced Ads ads.txt integration.

If you like, please try the mentioned solutions above and let me know if you have any additional question.

    Best regards,
    Henning

    Thank you for your suggestions.

My domain is accessible from https, http and without either.

When you say static ads.txt do you mean an actual file uploaded to the website? If yes, I had one prior to using Ads Manager and it’s still there.

Are you suggesting I unlink adsense from Ads Manager and only go through adsense itself?

    Hi there,

    Thanks, for the reply.

By “Ads Manager” you are referring to the Advanced Ads plugin, correct?

I recommend deciding if you want to use a static ads.txt file uploaded to the website or the file generation by Advanced Ads under Advanced Ads > Settings > General > ads.txt. If using a static file, please disable the integration in the settings or remove the static file if you would like to use the option Advanced Ads provides.

Please let me know if you need anything else.

    Best regards,
    Henning

Yes, I opted to go with Adsense integration. So far the error has occurred once since.
