i am using generate press theme. i have installed amp plugin yesterday. i am using READER MODE OF AMP PLUGIN.
i added amp auto adsense code in theme function of wordpress theme.

but ads are not showing up.
but when i checked the html version of my amp page, i can clearly see the adsense code. INSPITE OF THE PRESENCE OF AUTO ADS CODE IN HTML VERSION I AM UNABLE TO SEE ANY ADS IN THE AMP VERSION OF MY POSTS.

I WANT TO KNOW WHETHER THAT “DOES THE READER MODE SUPPORTS AUTO ADS?”, OR SHOULD I CHANGE IT TO TRANSLATIONAL OR NATIVE MODE.

I HAVE ADDED AMP AUTO ADS CODE IN THEME FUNCTION, IS THIS METHOD WRONG. OR CAN YOU HELP ME OUT IN PLACING AUTO ADS CODE IN AMP PAGES OF MY BLOG [IN READER MODE].

I AM A NON TECHIE. KINDLY HELP ME OUT.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • @medicineoral You have placed your AMP auto ads code correctly, and I can see ads placed. When you are checking I suggest checking from a mobile device or emulator.

I can see also you are using GeneratePress. You could try using transitional or even standard mode after adding this plugin by the themes developer. Your AMP URLs will then use your themes styling, along with having an AMP navigation menu and widget areas.

thanks james. but the ads that are showing in my site are not auto ads. i have manually added them , as the auto ads function was not working. i think auto ads is a better option. can you help me in this regard.

coming to transitional mode. i tried to activate the transitional mode. but i got 24 errors. being a non techie i found it difficult to resolve.
i am happy that you metioned a plugin for this from github. but the plugin resoves only the menu issue. what about the other errors?
can you give me an idea about this.

hello james! i changed my mode to transitional mode. but now i am not seeing even the manual ads that i placed through additional functional php file. can you help me out. i added the generate press amp plugin from github.
    MENU IS FINE, BUT
    ADS NOT SHOWING UP AND
STILL 24 ERROS [1 URL ERROR] IS SEEN.

@medicineoral Going back to your reader mode amp, if you’ve just implemented auto ads it might take some time for ads to be served. In addition Auto Ads will only be placed if a suitable placement is available, if you already have 2 single ad units there may have been no suitable placements.

In relation to transitional mode AMP you have already implemented Auto Ads correctly, I can see the head code and body code. You will just have to wait unfortunately. Checking the console errors I can also see the following notice:
log.js:228 No ad placements found for publisher I

You will find more on that here, with others also suggesting to wait 2 or 3 days.

For your single ad units in transitional mode you can you share the function you used and I can check, you probably have it placed in a reader mode hook. Here is a guide for setting up ads in amp, with some suggested plugins if you prefer to not use a function.

THANK YOU JAMES. YOUR SUPPORT HAS REALLY HELPED A NON TECHIE LIKE ME. THE PLUGIN “AD INSERTER” REALLY WORKED FOR ME.
BUT ONLY ONE THING IS I HAVE 29 ERRORS IDENTIFIED AFTER IMPLEMENTING AMP. BUT THEY ARE NOT CAUSING ANY PROBLEM.
AND WITHIN 1 DAY, “7” OF MY WEB POSTS GOT INDEXED IN GOOGLE AMP PAGES. THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT.

@medicineoral Good to hear, and thanks for the review. You can also post a review here. In relation to the errors I don’t see any validation errors on your site at present, so maybe you have “accepted” all using the validation tool. They most likely related to custom JavaScript, which is not permitted in AMP.
