    Hey Thomas,

ShoutMeLoud forum member here. Can you give some suggestion on the above-mentioned website? It is an affiliate website and traffic isn’t that great. But the client wants to add extra income source so we went with Auto Ads.

But it isn’t working that great. Can you please look into it?

    Thanks a lot.

    Shafi Khan,

I like the question because finding the balance between ad networks and direct affiliate links is a real challenge.

    • I asked myself who is visiting this site and why. If I were a visitor and came through a search engine on a post like https://www.flatnight.com/review/kaya-mattress-review/ I wouldn’t really quickly get what it is about. You have post images on many posts and overview pages and in the menu, but not right there. Maybe I just picked a bad example, but while I like the clean layout, this post doesn‘t welcome me in my mood of looking into a new mattress. Mood is everything for an affiliate page. If the visitor doesn‘t want to buy something you are not going to make money. Unlike with ads, where he might still find something interesting or you get something for an ad view
    • not sure what you tried already, but I don’t think you are close to having too many product related and catchy items which could also be affiliate links. Many of those which you have are either not highlighted enough or one was even covered by another element and not clickable
    • in my experience, a product related website should first try to focus on affiliate revenue and only then use ads, because the potential revenue for a well set up affiliate site is higher than one with ads
    • I don‘t see any AdSense output, though the ads are loading. Is the account fully set up?
    • Auto Ads: I know it is simple, but can also harm your affiliate revenue, when ads are competing with your affiliate links. If you want to keep ad networks on your site then I would focus on 2-3 fixed positions far away from your money making affiliate links. You might need to do a bit of split testing to find the sweet spot.

    I hope that helps.

    Thomas
