• I keep seeing the following in the plugin setup

“You currently have a host-only AdSense account. Please visit the AdSense help center for instructions on how to show ads on this site.”

My site is self hosted so there shouldn’t be a problem. When I click on “learn more” they want me to copy code onto my page to verify. Not sure where to paste it, and I thought the plugin did that automatically.

Can someone tell me what step is next to get the ball rolling again?

    Thank you
    James

    Sorry, I’m using version 4.5.3

In order to prevent people from just tossing ads onto a site they don’t have control over, Google is trying to confirm that you have the right to edit the site and you aren’t a hacker. To that end, normally the code is placed in the header or footer of the site. I think you may also have an option of ftp uploading a file to the root directory of the site as well. Once you have confirmed that you “own” the site then you can continue from there. Hope that helps.

Thanks, it looks like I’m on to the next step. I am able to use the plugin to place ads, even though I get an error 500 message when I try to save every time.

Now I have blank white squares and rectangles on my site. Hurray? Any idea how long those will be like that? I’m assuming that Google is performing some form of checking but zero feedback makes me concerned and slightly impatient. After all, it’s been about two weeks.

    Thanks for your reply!
    Yours,

It can take up to 5 days for them to update ads and will show. I thought mine were never going to show and all of a sudden there they were.
