• Hello

I did join your site but was unable to post a message, so i thought I would try here.

I’m just trying out your adrotate plugin and find it an excellent tool for inserting ads into my website.

I just have one issue though.

Say if I add adsense code and set it to appear after 6 paragraphs, I save this and it works fine.

However if the advert happens to appear just under an image which has some caption text it will restrict the size of the advert to the width of the image.

So if I use a 300 x 250 advert and the image it appears under is just 200 pixels wide the adsense unit will be restricted to that width and not the full 300 pixels.

Is there anything I can I do about this?

Thanks again for a great plugin!

AdRotate detects paragraphs by the <p> tag WordPress adds to your content (or your own p tags if you add them yourself).

As far as I know there is no code that sets a width on paragraphs.
Any width restrictions then either come from your theme or the image you add there.

    Hello

Thanks for the response, can I show you an example?

    https://www.foodandweightloss.com/wp/weight-loss-tips/the-10-best-weight-loss-foods/

See how below the image of cottage cheese the ad is reduced to that size.

I see what’s happening now, it’s reading the caption text as a paragraph and inserting the ad there, this is then making the ad smaller than it should be.

Anyway of preventing this from happening?

    Many thanks

AdRotate Interprets paragraphs based on what WordPress does.
If the wpautop filter, or your theme, puts <p> tags around the caption. Then the problem is not with AdRotate.

Try moving the advert down 1 paragraph.

    Hi again

Well I can’t really afford to have adverts not displaying properly. I could move the advert down another paragraph, but then that might affect other posts.

I installed “Insert Post Ads” instead.

This plugin ignores the “wp-caption-text” so the adverts display properly.

    Thanks again for your help
