• A blog I was controlling under WP 2.1 developed the hack/attack where the Google Adsense ads are hijacked and display drug/credit ads in place of the legitimate Adsense ads.

I have upgraded to WP 2.6 on a clean install. I have reinstalled the theme from a clean install. I have a new database in place, with just dummy WP data. This new DB has a new password. No themes are installed.

I am running the theme in a subdirectory named /wp. Everything works fine until I configure WP to run in a different directory than the install: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Giving_WordPress_Its_Own_Directory

If I view the site directly from the /wp directory, all the Adsense ads are legitimate. By the second I run the site from the root directory, with the WP configuration designed to redirect to the /wp directory, all the drug ads appear for Adsense.

So, something is in the root? The index.php is clean and I see no other issues.

Can someone offer me some help? Thanks.
