Advanced Comment Notifications

Also, does the plugin send a notification when the comment is made or when the comment is approved?

If the former, would be good to have the option only to send out when the comment is approved if you have manual approvals.

This is already on the roadmap but a long way off yet.

With regards to comments, it’s both rolled into one as I believe WordPress uses the same function. It sends out notifications of automatically approved comments and if comments are pending approval, it will use the same notification and send it out once they’ve been manually approved.

What does the code that you’ve written do? Is it an enhancement to BNFW or something separate?

Just to clarify, once the comment is approved, who does it send the notification to?

I ask because I’d like to incorporate subscriptions to comments (i.e. “Notify me of new comments by email”) like they have on these support forums. Obviously would only want to notify people who have commented on a post already, not all users by user role.

It would be great to do this without having to install another plugin.

As far as I remember, once the comment is approved, it sends out the notifications for ‘New Comment / Comment Awaiting Moderation’.

To whoever you’ve set it up to send it to in the notification settings.
