Before updating the plugin, I opened the Advanced Editor with the left mouse button and the Shift button. Now it doesn’t open like that. Just by using the right mouse button and choosing an option from the menu, it takes much more time, much more. Is there a quick way to open Advanced Editor?

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

Indeed, that “Shift” plus click keyboard shortcut is not available anymore in TablePress 2.0, as the “Shift” key has a different meaning here now (it’s used to select multiple cells/rows/columns at the same time, to be closer to the well known user interface of e.g. Excel or other spreadsheet software).

I totally understand the the context menu might be a bit slower here, when the “Advanced Editor” is needed often. I’ll therefore gladly add this to my list of improvements for a next release. Maybe a different keyboard shortcut could be used instead? Do you have any preferences here? Maybe pressing Ctrl/Cmd+A or +E could work? I’ll be happy to investigate that then!

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

“Ctrl+left mouse button” would be ideal. But if you choose from your options, then “Ctrl+A”

    Hi,

thanks for the feedback! I checked a few things, and unfortunately, those two candidates will likely not work :-/
Ctrl plus left click is the equivalent to a right click on many systems/browsers, and Ctrl+A is usually used for “Select all”. Both of these in fact already do that action on the “Edit” screen.

However, Ctrl+E seems to be possible, and the advantage could be that no mouse click is needed, i.e. that this directly works on the currently selected cell.

I’ll look into this some more ??

    Hi @maddyssonn,

quick update here: The next release will have keyboard shortcuts Ctrl+L, Ctrl+I, and Ctrl+E (or Cmd instead of Ctrl on Macs) for quickly inserting links or images, or opening the Advanced Editor for the currently selected cell.

    I hope this helps!

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
