advanced Excerpt or any excerpt Link

  • I need code to insert a “Continue reading” on my posts which links to the external link rather than the permalink which is a 2 step process (link to my site permalink where you then can click on the external link) instead of (click on continue reading and it takes you direct to the external link).     Would someone please help me? I have been working on this external link issue for a long time. It may not look like it but I have tried different plugins and requested assistance for those to link external posts and now have deactivated the Advanced Excerpt plugin but still get the Continue reading link to my post page but I want to Continue reading (when clicked) to the actual external post. Getting so frustrated that I am now starting to duplicate efforts and coding. Thanks.
