Advanced excerpt pulls images and sliders – can I turn this off?

  • I like using this plugin to be able to control the length of the text excerpt in search results etc, and to add a ‘continue reading’ link – however I notice that when it’s activated, it not only pulls the featured image (which search results do, anyway) but also the first image on the page, including sliders. As my theme doesn’t display featured images by default, this means that in some places, search results have two images that are the same.
    So, including the sliders and images in excerpts makes my search results look messy, is there any way I can turn this off?

    It also pulls header tags, would ideally like to turn this off, too. Deactivated plugin for now, which means no ‘continue reading’ link or ellipsis, but to be honest, looks better :/
