    Hello,
First, thank you for your plugin VAT Compliance.

I have 2 questions, could you help me please ?

1/ I do need an advanced report which corresponds to the screenshot that is published on your website here (https://www.simbahosting.co.uk/s3/product/woocommerce-eu-vat-compliance/) with the “Total paid column” included in the tab.
But my own first VAT report (which was gererated by this plugin) unfortunatly doesn’t show this column.
Do I have to activate anything somewhere to make it appear ? I installed this plugin especially for this, based ont that screenshot (by country : VAT rate, total VAT, total paid and total without VAT).

2/ Is it possible to generate advanced VAT reports with orders which were completed BEFORE the plugin installation date ?

Thank you very much for your help.
    Regards

oups sorry … after reading again and again, about question 1/ : the “total paid column” would only appear if I install the premium plugin, am I right ?

    Hi,

The screenshot is old; that page doesn’t have a “Total paid” column (of items pre-VAT plus VAT) any more, since it wasn’t needed directly by any reporting authority, so we moved it out of the brief report. Instead, there is “VAT-able items” which is something that usually needs reporting. I have updated that old screenshot now to reflect the current report.

In the Premium version there is also a detailed CSV download that contains pretty much everything; so if you need something specific that is not in the summary (e.g. order total net of VAT) you can get it from there (and of course you can calculate the total of that column across all orders, or any other operation you can perform in a spreadsheet).

Thank you very much David for your super quicky answer. It is clearer.
I suppose that the answer to question 2/ is “no” ?

Last question about reports : will they also mention specific line such as “others 0%” for non-taxed countries sales such as US, CA … ?
Or does the report only work for countries that are set up in the VAT tab ?

Sorry, I overlooked question 2…. actually I don’t know. In the past there was some attempt to try to piece together missing data, but I don’t know how well this interacts with more recent features, and it’s never officially been supported (it’s not a listed feature). The best way to find out what happens is to try it and see (the free plugin includes the summary report, so you can look in there).

The summary report includes a line for every country that turned up during its analysis of the relevant period. This may sometimes include lines that are all zeroes. But it won’t go looking for other countries that had no orders. i.e. For countries for which you had no tax liabilities, there is likely to be no entry (but there may be a line of zeroes if you did have an order for that country with no tax on it).

    Thank you David !
for VAT report with dates before the plugin installation, I have already tried this and it does’nt work. As I installed the free plugin yesterday morning, I tried to generate a custom report with precise dates a few hours later (e.g for the whole january 2021 month, or only since january, 10th = first VAT setting up date on my woo eshop), but the VAT/EU plugin report only considers sales from yesterday date (january, 16th, morning). I was just wondering if their was an option I missed about it in the plugin parameters.
It does’nt really matter for me (only 6 days sales are missing in the report, so I will be able to manually retrieve missing data from the woocommerce back office), but I think it could be a great premium option for example for persons who discover the plugin several weeks after their first VAT config (personnal story : I began to be interested in VAT/EU compliance plugin because my accountant told me that my woocommerce basic VAT sample report did not gather enough data for reporting VAT authority. Fortunately, I had the idea to check it for accountant validation several weeks/months before the official reporting tax date. If I had not done that, I would have had a kind of last minut reporting tax problem.

For the other question about zero-tax lines in the report for other countries : great !

    Thank you again David.

    Hi again,
Just to let you know (after another day of sales) : with the free plugin, the summary tab does not report any additionnal line for zero tax countries (I received a CH-switzerland zero taxe purchase which is not shown at all in the VAT report).
Before eventually upgrading to premium, I wanted to be sure of this…: would every country sales really appear in the advanced detailed report, even with zero-VAT ?

I have run out of time today, but will review this tomorrow all being well.

    Hi,

Countries outside of the EU/UK VAT areas won’t appear in the reports in any circumstances, since EU/UK VAT is never due to those countries. So you won’t see Switzerland (which isn’t a member of the EU) in a report.
