Advanced [x links=0]

Hi,
I am reading on this page.
https://formidableforms.com/knowledgebase/advanced/#kb-remove-linksI am trying to strip/remove any links from the message field in entries (protect the reader from spam links).
I don’t understand the use of for instance [x links=0]. Should I combine that with [default-message]? like this:
[default-message x links=0]?
