Advice on a few things please!

  • https://sekhu.net/word/ is the site as it stands now. I need to do the following:
    1) when I click on about on the menu it isn’t a block colour like Home is, any idea where I might have gone wrong there as I can’t figure it out
    2) what’s the easiest way to create additional pages? I copied and renamed the index.php to about and downloads, when I put text in the content area, it becomes messed up. What’s the best way to go about this, still keeping the layout of the page as is.
    3) I’ve tried to get the three columns a different colour to that of the background, much like the WordPress site, but it messes up my page ?? I edited the menu, calendar, search and content areas of the CSS and it still screwed up. How can I do this with minimal editing?
    Any others comments and suggestions more thank welcome. The header image will be replaced, so I’m playing with the colours and design.

  • 1. It goes a light blue when I click it, but it does not stay that way.
    The Home button remains blue.
    To set that, you’ll need to either set a variable that checks which page it is on and then colours the right block, or code that into each page when you insert the menu code.
    2. Check the wiki for the Static Pages (it’s in the Hacks section I think)
    3. I’ve not looked at the ‘Dots’ css yet .. I’ll try to play with it later to see if I can help ??

    tcervo: How did you get the categories, which are spit out by the db in list format, to have a unique identifier for each?
    I am trying to have the categories hilite a different color when they are active. Here is my previous post in the support forums, with no reply’s …
