    I’m thinking of leaving InMotion.

The big question: If I downgrade to something like Bluehost will it be a noticeable change?

Right now I enjoy the benefits of running my own image-selling website. It makes use of things like CURL, imagemagic, etc.

Are all of these things available on a lower-monthly-rate host?

  • You could try asking Bluehost these questions.

I like inmotion myself. Their tech support is premium. Mainly I considered myself a little “too small” for a dedicated server, and am not using it to the fullest with my one site. Hence my question on downscaling. But they are worth the price for the security and help you mention.

Nice to see a serious reply on this thread!

I have been with inmotion for 5 years on a VPS as a reseller. I am going to move to BlueHost. Inmotions tech support and reliability have really gotten lost somewhere. They send out an update notice after the update is already in progress. They claim that they were updating my VPS with an emergency software update–websites, emails are down and no notice. Then I find out, they didn’t update my VPS because the platform is too old. But, the reason to update was because someone hacked into the VPS and had queued 29000 email messages to go out. Some techs just make stuff up. A few are good. On a new VPS I am still having a plethora of issues with email. I hate to leave but I hate to stay. So I’m leaving.
