    Hello,

I’m planning to set up a real-estate site for selling parcels of land, but I’m not sure if WordPress can do what I need, at least not without the help of addons.

I need users to be able to register, and I also need to be able to promote users to brokers.

Brokers can list parcels of land, which can be auctioned off on the site as well.

The front page of the site should be a clickable map for all state and provinces, where users may narrow down their search by location.

Is WordPress the right platform for this? If so, what addons do I need?

    Any advice is appreciated.

What country / areas is the site to cover? That makes a big difference. You will most likely need a web developer familiar with real estate in that area, or possibly one of several WP add-on products (plugins) designed for real estate property listing and advertising in general, which will probably need to be customized for your application. WordPress by itself will not do what you are looking for.

WordPress can do all of that and more… it’s only limited by the plugins. I’d 1. search the plugins currently here and 2. go onto a programming/freelance website and ask for quotes for what you want.
