• Hello,

I’m really struggling to find the right WordPress photography theme, please hear me out.

I have looked through countless themes and most of them are too ‘fancy’ – the sliders, fading links, popups, fullscreen photo examples, etc.
All I’m looking for is something simple & ‘hard’, also giving space for the photos.
One theme that has some of what I have in mind: https://www.coralthemes.com/demo/corallightpro/

Now, this is new to me, perhaps I can get rid of all the ‘fanciness’ after I download a theme? If so, what should I look for when browsing?
If not, perhaps any of you have some good sources that might have what I have in mind?

    Thank you,

Thank you, I will start having a look.

In the mean time. I know that someone suggesting a theme with an idea somewhat similar to the one in my link is hoping for a lot. Perhaps any of you could tell me how I could work towards that? As mentioned before, could I edit to close effect the usual themes?

Here’s the Coral Light version in the theme repository:

After installing that you could ask your question on the theme support forum:

I was thinking more in general. How much editing can I do on the usual themes? I’m talking more about the premium ones. More specifically: Can I get rid of the fading out of photos, the sliders and other little or big effects? Or is that work for someone who does coding?

I don’t want to waste money and experiment in that way. I feel better first asking those already in the business.

Depends on what type of editing you intend to do. You can make substantial changes in the way the site is displayed using your own CSS. If you intend to modify the theme source code then that may, or may not, be permitted by the theme licensing agreement. If you have a particular theme in mind then your best option would be to ask on that theme’s official support channel.

If it’s a free theme, try it and find out. If it’s a commercial theme contact the theme vendors.
