• Hello, i am trying to build a new website for a business. they currently have a wordpress site using a chimpstudio theme (Aid:Reform https://themeforest.net/item/aid-reform-ngo-donation-and-charity-theme/6546476)

This theme uses a drag and drop page builder which means none of the page content is within the usual wordpress editor, each page is built using many elements from the theme.

If i was to install a new theme, my worry is that all of the page content will be lost. I have considered exporting the page info but this doesnt work, as the content has been created as mentioned above.

    Any suggestions? Many thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Very difficult to give suggestions without knowing the detail of what is theme specific and what is possibly third party.

Unfortunately often this bespoke functionality in themes often creates ‘theme lock in’ and so migration ends up being fairly manual.

Your best option would be to find a theme which uses the same page builder, or install the same page builder as a plugin if one is available.

Last resort, copy the content portion of every singular page’s output from a browser’s source HTML view and paste it into a custom HTML block of a new replacement page using the default block editor. You would have to alter any id and class element attributes in the content to work with the new theme. Or stick with the same theme and rework its CSS.
