Adware?

  • I received the following message in the admin console:

    Power up your website! You can now show Post likes, Post views counter, Related posts, Post reviews with 5 star rating system and much more with a few clicks.
    Try now for free! or Get more details about this plugin.

    After some investigating, I found this code in the file “bulk-add-terms.php” which can be downloaded from the WordPress repository. Strangely, this file is different from the file on github (https://github.com/sohan5005/bulk-add-terms/blob/master/bulk-add-terms.php).

    Should this be reason for concern?
