Affects of upgrading WordPress versions

  • Hi,

    We have had a website built for us and now need to upgrade to the version 3.8 of WordPress, but do not know what will be affected as we have 41 plugins installed on the site. We aren’t IT experts so how can we tell what may be affected, and if we want to hire an IT expert to do it for us, generally how long will it take for them to review?

  • The update itself takes a few minutes. If there’s a conflict with a plug in – even with 41, it doesn’t take very long to isolate the culprit. Replacing its functionality and debugging a theme if it’s required can be time consuming, though there’s no way to predict how time consuming.
