Affiliate commission credited to Affiliate after the cookies duration expired

    Hi,

    We have set the duration of cookies to 7 days. A website visitor clicked on the affiliate link of Affiliate 1 and purchased a product. The affiliate commission was correctly credited to the Affiliate 1 account.

    The same website visitor visited the website after 7 days (after cookies duration expired) without clicking on an affiliate link and purchased a product. A commission was again credited to Affiliate 1. This should not happened since the visitor not clicked on an affiliate link and purchased after the cookies duration expired.

    To sum up, our problem is that commission was credited to an Affiliate, without the client click on the affiliate link and after the cookies expired.

    Please advice how this issue can be solved.

    Thanks. Do you have the following option enabled in the plugin settings?

    Affiliates > Settings > Advanced Settings > Use IP Address for Referral Tracking

    You can disable it if you only want cookie based tracking.

    Hi, just to let you know that we have disabled the setting Use IP Address for Referral Tracking and tested and now cookies duration is ok.
