When Affiliates’ referees paste their referrer’s Affiliate links into the browser, they are taken to the site’s Home page rather than the signup area. I am stumped. Please help.

  • Hi @littleseizure,
If you want that your affiliates share another page, you can use the [affiliates_url] shortcode in your affiliate-area page.
Remember that if your referrer visits an affiliate’s url, the cookie is created associated to the domain, so that if he then visits the registration section or a product page, the reference will also be saved.

When a person registers as an Affiliate, the system generates a set of links for them to distribute to prospects so they can get credit for those visits.

The links being generated by the system do not take the new referees to the Signup area. Instead, they are taken to the site’s Home Page. Why is this, and how do we remedy the situation?

    Hi,
You can edit your ‘affiliate-area’ page from the dashboard, Pages section, using the shortcodes available. Something like this: [affiliates_url]https://www.example.com/your-signup-page[/affiliates_url]

    That makes sense. Thank you.

Lastly, where do I insert the appended URL?

    Hi,
From the dashboard, Pages->All Pages you have your affiliate-area page that you need to edit.

OK. So I put the code: [affiliates_url]https://deafusa.org/affiliate-area/[/affiliates_url] in this page: https://deafusa.org/affiliate-area/

Now, when someone pastes ANY Affiliate code into the address bar of the browser, it still takes them to the Home Page of the site. If they click on the link to the Affiliate Page, the Affiliate code appears at the top of the page, which doesn’t look good at all.

How do I get the Affiliate link codes to take prospects to the Affiliate Area page so they can sign up under whomever referred them?

    Hi,
If you see your affiliate-area page code, you can see that you have a [affiliates_is_affiliate] shortcode. You need to add theàffiliates_url] shortcode inside the [affiliates_is_affiliate] section, so only registered affiliates will can see the custom url.
When someone comes from another, a cookie is created, and the plugin knows who referred you, so it is not necessary to have the field referenced in the form.
    Kind Regards,
    Antonio B.

Could you show me an example of some sort. In any case, the Affiliate links do not take users to the Registration page, and there are bits of coding appearing on the page.

    Hi,
You can use a page like this: https://pastebin.com/HE4Fn2VH
