• After 1.9.0 update, I have no access to plugin.php, dashboard updates or UpdraftPlus settings page. All I get is a blank page. I tried deleting the plugin and UD folder in wp_content via hosting control panel, so that I could try to reinstall (thinking the update went bad). In my Admin panel, it still says I have one plugin (UD) to update. If I try to install via “add new”, search for UD, it denotes “update now” rather than install. I have also tried downloading the plugin and uploading through “add new” to no avail. Please assist with uninstall/reinstall instructions.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

UD has no hooks into plugin.php; therefore, if it is not loading, then it is likely that PHP is aborting due to your site running very close to the hosting company’s configured memory limit. This plugin is a good one to check your memory limit: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/tpc-memory-usage/

How to remove a WordPress plugin manually; Google “how to remove wordpress plugin manually”; best result: https://bornvirtual.com/wordpress/remove-wordpress-plugin-manually/

    David,

I think I have a similar problem. What do you recommend to manually reinstall updraft and make sure it backs up to dropbox?

I updated 6 plugins tonight simultaneously – I do not know which ones. I suspect updraft was one of them. My website stopped loading and I had to rename the plugins folder to plugins.hold and then delete the .maintenance folder. Once in, I was lucky enough, after refreshing the page a few times, to see the error “Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 167081 bytes) in
    /functions.php on line 252″

I got worried and went to restore my backup from updraft plus. I noticed two strange things:

    1. UpdraftPlus no longer showed up in my list of plugins at all. I tried to install the plugin again, but when I did so, the install attempt failed, explaining that the folder already existed.
    2. I logged into FTP and noticed that updraft had a more recent backup then what had been sent over to my dropbox. So I downloaded that into my dropbox account.

I came to this post and saw your comment on memory limits, so I called Godaddy hosting support and they increased my php.ini limit from 64MB to 256MB. Instantly, my website started loading in its entirety (albeit – more slowly).

Updraft still does not show up anywhere on my plugins folder
I opened the updraft log and found:
