• After your 2.3 release, all teams data on the frontend of the website is completely gone and just showing shortcode. It appears that you drastically changed the plugin, apparently did zero testing (or didn’t care that users have auto-update set on plugins), and even worse, based on these topics it sounds like it wasn’t the first time. Couldn’t use the same database fields?! Are you kidding me? If you’re going to release an update that breaks everyone’s team data, how about requiring a manual update and letting everyone know first??

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the recent update. We understand how frustrating this situation must be for you.

Please be assured that we take this issue very seriously. The changes made in version 2.3 were intended to enhance the functionality of the plugin, and we have thoroughly tested the plugin before its release. Rest assured, if there had been any changes affecting the plugin as a whole, it would have impacted all users, not just you.

To assist you further, could you please provide us with your site URL? Our team will work diligently to help restore your data as swiftly as possible.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

We have the same problem. After updating to version 2.3 everything is gone and the shortcode no longer works.

For us it would be about this page

Thank you for reaching out to us. We’ve reviewed the support ticket and the shortcode you provided. It appears that the shortcode is from a different plugin, not from ours. It’s possible that you may have installed a plugin from another author by mistake.

Could you please check your plugin purchase details? If you purchased the plugin from Codecanyon, we recommend downloading it again from there and reinstalling it.

We hope this helps, and please let us know if you need any further assistance!

The problem is in the WordPress plugin database, because an update is detected for the Team Showcase plugin from themepoints.

If you now use the Team Showcase plugin from cmoreira by Codecanyon, the plugins overwrite each other and the shortcode no longer works.

Simply install the new version of Codecanyon and the plugin will continue to run. No changes are made to the database during the update. I would also deactivate the automatic update for this, in case themepoints makes changes and really touches data.

I had the same problem. Updating Team Showcase plugin from cmoreira fixes it.

BUT, it still shows that the plugin has an update available. When you click View version details, it shows Themepoints plugin. I ran into this on another site a year or so ago, that took a while to hunt down the source. At least I had some memory of where to start looking. For non developers, I assume this would be next to impossible to debug.

How to fix this? Can you change something on your end to get rid of this conflict?

    Thanks.

I too have the same issue and would like to know when a solution to this duplicate plugin name is found. Thanks

One of our clients ran into the same issue. Hopefully this name conflict can be resolved so WP doesn’t break each time an update for this plugin takes place.

I have the same issue – all data is gone. However, I believe my version of the plugin was part of a theme I purchased which I no longer have support for. How can I get a copy of the plugin so I can get the data back? I’m using it here and on other pages: https://pipeline-talent.com/pipeline-talent-cinematographers/

    Thank you!

@willnev The data is still available in the database. Either restore a backup or simply reinstall the plugin from your theme after you have deleted the “wrong” plugin.

@big2k – Thank you for the suggestion! I took a look and I don’t see the plugin anywhere in my old files so I can’t reinstall and if I restore my backup, I’ll lose some of the data that was entered recently. I’m just hoping that @themepoints can help me.

@willnev This plugin is sold through codecanyon. The developer of the CodeCanyon Team Showcase has released an update which should fix conflict. Just do a google search for “CodeCanyon Team Showcase WordPress Plugin”. You can either purchase or renew license so you can download the latest version of the plugin.

Here is the link if it doesn’t get removed:

    https://codecanyon.net/item/team-showcase-wordpress-plugin/4936368

This is not an issue with @themepoints (even though they could have prevented this by using a different name for their plugin). It’s just how WP auto-update for plugins works where it thinks that you have installed the @themepoints Team Showcase plugin instead of the one from CodeCanyon.

@stevewest15 – OK, thanks you for explaining it. I’ll just purchase it to get this resolved. Thanks for replying. I really appreciate it!

We had the same issue and it has arisen before. Please fix it so you don’t both use the same slug!!
