after 4.0.1 upgrade – Post edit box (visual&text) wonkiness

    I’m in over my head, and not a programmer, but… well, willing to get my feet wet if I can solve my problem and not break more things on the way.

    I upgraded to 4.0.1 and upon attempting to create a new post found that the Visual editor doesn’t work at all. If I click there first to try to create a post I can’t get the cursor to even enter the box.

    If I start with the Text option, I can type in the box but cannot revert to the Visual to view it and can only sometimes return to the Text option. If I start with Visual then try Tex option, I cannot enter text. Text option HAS to be the starting point.

    Theme: Holi (though I deactivated it and activated other themes to see if it was a theme issue – problem persisted across the board).

    What other info should I provide to help troubleshoot this? I’m running PHP 5.3 (just upgraded AFTER the WP upgrade, would that matter?)

    Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the Twenty Fourteen theme to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Problem solved – I deleted one or two unused plugins before deactivating, then upon deactivation/reactivation, the remainder worked. So, no knowing which was the offending party, but I don’t really care.
