• A few days ago I received an email from wordpress that my site had been automatically updated to the 3.7.2 version. Fine besides the point I don’t like having automatic updates, my site has been behaving awful.

Firs the dashboard would’nt show up after login just a blank page. I panicked, and moved all my plugins to a renamed folder. and tried to login again. This worked fine in order to get into the dashboard.
Started insertion plugins and activating one by one to see which ones where giving me problems. I had to leave some out as they would halt the dashboard again and make the page go blank. I had problems with (Yoast WordPress SEO, Instapress, Mailchimp) ok fine i leaved those out. So at least I could post.

Today i come back in and the post goes back to blank again so i tried to remove some of the plugins in this case twitter comments was giving me trouble. Fine I get back to the dashboard and try to do a post and receive and error message when uploading media. In a red box it says:

    Error test.jpg
An error occurred in the upload. Please try again later.

this is getting frustrating. I need help as I need to post as soon as possible. I thought of downgrading but that seems to be a lot of hassle.

    Please advise.

    this is my site

  • Realistically you should be on 3.8.2 at this point.

Is your database using an outdated version of mySQL, or are you using an older version of PHP?? These are all things to take into consideration.

    Evan,

I’m really not that into all this updating things as this is not my major or anything like that. I tried not to update as much so I don’t have to deal with changing my website so often. I just need a blog that works. As for upgrading to 3.8.2 i’m considering it but I need to figure out what else could go wrong.

But this is what i’m using:

    Database Server
    Server type: MySQL
Server version: 5.5.36-cll – MySQL Community Server (GPL)
    Protocol version: 10
    Web server

    Web Server
Database client version: libmysql – 5.0.96
    PHP extension: mysqli Documentation

I’ve had several websites over the last few days auto update from 3.7.1 to 3.7.2. They all failed. It leaves a number of core wordpress files incomplete.

The quickest fix will be to grab a copy of wordpress 3.7.1 from

    https://www.ads-software.com/wordpress-3.7.1.zip

remove the wp-content folder and copy the rest to your server so all the files will be overwritten except for your wp-content folder and files.

backup before you do any of this.
