    Hi there,

    I changed my domain name. Decided to revert back to my old one because there were too many difficulties with the new one. Site Kit is recognizing the new domain, not my old domain. I even restored my website but the site kit didn’t restore back to my old domain. looking to get site kit set up with my old domain.

    Thanks for opening a support topic, and providing details of what you’re encountering. So we can ensure you are able to revert to your old domain name once more, please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred. Please fill this form in based on your old domain, which you wish to use.
    2. When you mention Site Kit is recognizing the new domain are you referring to the data within the Site Kit dashboards, or during set up using the old domain are you arriving at any errors or notices referencing the incorrect domain?
    3. Do you have access to both your new domain and old domain websites? If so please attempt a plugin reset on your old domain site, the one you wish to use(Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit), before attempting Site Kit set up once more

    Ok. I have submitted the form. Also when my host was transferring my domain we had some issues and they disabled my plugins in order to override the issues. so I decided to got to a backup copy from June 12 of my blog but it seems the site kit is still an issue and recognizing tymewithheather whic is no longer active and not heatherbarrett.ca

    Hi Heather,

    Many thanks for the update, and for sharing your Site Health information. I’ve checked the details and it looks like Site Kit is connected, with the reference URL showing as heatherbarrett.ca. For that reason may I ask do you see any errors, or encounter any notices, or is the issue you are reporting based on the Google Analytics property you have connected showing data from your old site?

    Note that in the case of a domain name change there are different methods to migrate a site, and it’s very possible that some records on the Site Kit service may point to your old domain name. For that reason I suggested a site reset, before connecting Site Kit once more (Tools > Available Tools > Reset Site Kit)?

    After doing so you can attempt Site Kit set up once more, and then connect any other previously connected modules (ie. Google Analytics) to your preferred property.

    Looking forward to hearing from you. Let me know if you have any questions with the above, and inform me of any errors, or how you are determining that your current site is showing references from your old site.

    Hi, thank you for the quick response. I see ads are still running on my site, the issue I believe is with the plug in itself. The reset you mention, is this the “redo the plugin set up” option? If so, that’s where the issue is. When I select redo set up, site kit recognizes the URL (thymewithheather NOT heatherbarrett) I don’t want site kit to recogize thymewithheather. There is an option to disconnect, but I am wondering if I do that step will I lose everything and have to reapply for AdSense again?

    Ok, I just noticed I don’t see any of my recipes on my website!!!! Where would this issue be coming from. Create Card?

    I see them on my back end on my WORD PRESS ADMIN, but not live on my site.

    OK I found my backups thank goodness! I just want me recipes back (recipe cards) and sort out the site kit stuff ?? thanks!
    I don’t see any of my recipes under create card.

    Hi Heather,

    Glad to hear you were able to restore your site and of course recipes, nice work!

    As we’re limited to Site Kit plugin support here in the Site Kit forums we’re unable to assist with any recipes plugins or features. In relation to Site Kit, however, please do inform me if you see any errors or notices, or is all working as expected, with the plugin already connected to your current URL?

    There is an option to disconnect, but I am wondering if I do that step will I lose everything and have to reapply for AdSense again?

    You may not need to either disconnect or reset your site, as Site Kit seems to be already connected to your current domain, heatherbarrett.ca. In relation to AdSense, your current site looks to be already approved on the AdSense network, and I can see ads placed. For that reason all seems to be working as expected with Site Kit, unless you can share any errors of notices you may be encountering within Site Kit.

    Let me know if you have any queries with the above, and in particular whether you have any errors or notices within Site Kit. If you’re seeing an incorrect reference to an old domain on your site, within any Site Kit dashboard let me know. It’s possible that any old references are coming from your site title, as opposed to your actual domain.

    Unfortunately we can only assist with Site Kit queries here in the forums. Having Site Kit active doesn’t impact your pages, posts or custom content types.
