I’ve only just enabled WebP after about 80% of images were optimised.
How is the WebP format handled for these already optimised images? Do I need to reset or…?
    Thanks!

    Hi,

If you enabled webp in the middle of your current process, you have to destroy all optimized images and re-start it.

    We apologize for the inconvenience.

Backups were removed. Will it just reset without the need to ‘destroy all optimised images’?

    Hi,

The thing is that those already optimized images , will not be sent to optimize or get webp again.

So you have to , either reset these optimized images in media page one by one , or destroy all optimized images at once and to reoptimize it.

It doesn’t ‘destroy all optimised images’ though does it? In my case if it did, with no backup images kept, it would delete images with nothing to revert to.
The cut off button says “Destroy All Optimisation Data” but goes on to say “revert completed optimisations”. It obviously can’t with no retained backup to revert to.
    It’s misleading.
There should just be an option to revert data without reverting images to make it clearer.
I’ve used “Destroy Optimisation Data” and the images are still there (I had no backup).

    Hi,

    I just did some test.

either if you have enabled “Remove Original Backups” in setting or “Remove Original Image Backups” button in image optimization page, once you destroy all optimized image, the current image won’t be removed even the origin is deleted, it will treat current image as origin and start to get webp version.

Though this has been tested and confirmed , but it is still a good practice to do a backup of files and database before process ??
