After enabling, website is incredibly slow.

Hi Benjamin;
I see you haven’t got Autoptimize active now (but W3TC’s minify features are back on), so it’s hard to see what is going on.

Now first things first; on the first load of a page (when it is not in cache), AO will inevitably slow things down somewhat as it extracts, aggregates & minifies all JS & CSS. Once the page is in W3TC cache though, it will have the links to the optimized CSS/JS and autoptimize doesn’t even get triggered (hence your site should fly).

That being said, to troubleshoot slow first pageloads, you could do is toggle CSS, JS and HTML off and on one after the other and test to see which one is causing the slowdown. Once you’ve identified that culprit, you can see if excluding one or more files from optimization has an impact.

well, try with HTML-only minification first. if that works, try adding CSS. if it’s super-slow, turn back off and enable JS. that way at least we know what is the major reason of the slowdown.

do take into account that you need to disable all of W3TC’s minification in order to prevent conflicts (which can lead to “internal server error”-s or “white pages of death”).

I tried that, and it still shows white screen.

so even with only “HTML optimization” you have a WSOD? that’s a pretty bad-ass conflict you seem to have got there …

only way forward is to briefly switch your theme to a default twenty-something one and (if the problem remains with a stock them) disable/ re-enable your other plugins one by one to see which one is conflicting.

once we know what the conflict is, we can zoom in on that specific problem.

you’re indeed in a redirect loop, from https://www.worldofbenjamin.com to https://worldofbenjamin.com. but the problem is; there is no scenario in which AO could cause this really.

log into your dashboard (/wp-admin/ is still accessible) and disable all plugins (and remove any custom code in e.g. .htaccess or functions.php, if any).

I am talking with web hosting now, let me get this figured out then I will try this. But before I did i tried disabling the minify and enabling just html and it was slow ,So let me see and i will get back to you thanks

well you seem to be using BWP now, so not sure if I’m the right person to ask? ??

Yes because your plugin kept causing WSOD or the site wouldn’t load when using yours.

bwp is great, so the easy way out is to continue with that.

if however you desperately want to use AO, and you’re experiencing WSOD’s or slow loading (you mention both), then I can only re-iterate what I wrote before;
