I was having an issue with the updated image not showing up.
Tried rolling back the plugin and back to the latest version. Tried deleting website cache, browser history and using incognito windows.

Per an article I found, if I add “?random” after the URL for the image location in WordPress, then the new image should show up in the browser and that proves that the media replace is working properly. I did this and in fact the new image did show up but without “?random”

So this eliminated the plugin as the culprit. The article recommended I contact the web host about server side caching issues. I did this and the web host said to connect to the internet though a different connection. I connected through my phone instead of home wifi and was able the get the same image with or without “?random”. So the web host said to contact the internet service provider. The internet service provider said nothing is wrong, contact the router supplier. The router is quite old (Apple airport) says 2008 on the bottom. Doubt they would support on this.

Could the router cause a caching issue? I restarted the router but still has the issue.

Hey @aljohn23 thanks for your message and for using EMR.

So if I understand correctly, the old image appears if you do not use the “?something” trick, right? And the new image appears if you use the “?something”?
    Please confirm.
Also, could you please attach a screenshot of the old & new image here and also the URL of the image as well so I can try to replicate this on my side?
It could be a browser caching issue on your side. Have you tried to look at the image URL from an incognito browser tab?

Looking forward to receiving your reply,
    Alex

    Alex,

    That summarizes things correctly.

I did try deleting website cache, browser history and using incognito windows. All but one of the images are showing the updated file now.

Can I send the links to you privately? I do not want to have links to my site on www.ads-software.com

Were you ever able to resolve this problem? I’m having the same issue. Thx!

@giraffe yes, there was a caching problem that was replicated only on the customer’s browser.

Please check this article on possible causes and solutions.

    Regards,
    Alex

I am having the same issue and have tried all four of the methods mentioned (except 2, since I don’t use Cloudflare):

    1. empty the browser’s cache
    2. if you you’re using Cloudflare, flush the caching there as well
    3. check out this article on how to empty your WordPress’ cache
    4. sometimes, we noticed that there is also a server-side cache active and none of the steps above will actually flush the cache. If you feel this could be your case, then please contact your hosting provider, show them the two URLs and ask them for their support.

My hosting provider cleared the cache and said they could see images properly on their side. I still could not, so they said the caching issue might be with my ISP. So I disconnected the router for 15 minutes, but I am still having this issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
