• Hi,

I just bought a new domain on bluehost.com and installed wordpress for this domain and received an email with url, username and password and it says installation was a success. However, when I clicked on the url and tried to open the admin page, there is an error, neither can I open the wesbite.

I have another domain name which use the same bluehost hosting, and this one can be opened and the admin page can be opened with no problem.

Can anyone point out to what went wrong to the new domain?

    Thanks so much!

  • Hi,

I had exactly the same problem as above. I bought a new domain name and installed wordpress. I tried to login with the email but nothing.

    Please help.

    Thanks!

I got the same problem. After several try, I discover it related to some plugin. In my case, it was Nextgen Gallery (must wait their fix).

Try delete the plugin folder (or move it outside plugin directory if your gallery uploaded files there) … or try rename the plugin folder, then let see you can login admin dashboard and access your site or not. Else you have to check each plugin installed. ??

    Regards

Send here what is the error when you installed the word press in your domain?

    Thanks

@kapazhao – if you just bought the domain, you will have to wait up to 48 hours for it to fully propagate and become available. This is normal.

The other one you have on that account that works has more than likely been there for a while.

In the meantime, contact your host and they should be able to provide you with a temporary URL to use until the domain has fully propagated.

    Everyone should try this:

In windows, click START, run, write cmd and click enter.

    After that, write this:

    ping -t yourwebsite.com

    If you’ll get:

“Ping request could not find host yourwebsite.com. Please check the name and try again.”

either your nameservers are not set, either your domain didn’t propagate.

Normally it should take 30 to 60 minutes.

I registered 6+ domains and after writing down the nameservers and registering the domain in cPanel, the website was up in like half an hour.

I tried everything but nothing was working. Very frustrating. Finally called bluehost and they helped. It took only a few minutes for them to fix it.

Oh…so the problem was on their side?

    I’m glad it’s fixed!
