Hi, I’ve been a huge fan of your plugin for some time. But after I changed the design to the Tech Blogging Theme some MAJOR ERRORS occured on my site.

First of all the htaccess changed and I could no longer enter the site from just typing “filmtopp.se”, it had to be https://www.filmtopp.se, and all google links became broken. Luckily I had a backup, so this problem solved.

An even more alarming problem is that all the google search results for my website have been translated to japanese. Just try to google “filmtopp.se” and you’ll see.

This is a complete disaster. My google ranking is shredded to pieces.

How do I restore this problem??? is it a Virus?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Do a Sucuri scan to make sure you have not been hacked in anyway. It is always difficult to tell. Also consider using something like Ninja firewall and the Ninja scanner to protect your site. I have used that plugin for 2 years and it has kept hackers out. It is a fantastic plugin.

When I look at the page after doing a search, I do see one url which is obviously wrong (japanese characters). When i look at the page itself I do not see a title tag or meta description with characters like that.

    There are two possibilities

    1. You fixed it but google has not updated as yet. Do a google fetch in web master tools.
    2. That bad meta information is being injected by a hack which doesn’t always show for everyone.

Do the Sucuri scan first and then use Ninja and do some more scanning.

    Hi @filmtopp

The Tech Blogging theme is an opensource theme, it has it’s own update cycle which is not as active as the core.

I think you have switched to Newspaper Theme, You can continue to use that or you can also try the new Swift theme which comes with the core.

Let me know what do you think of it.

and I am very sure that it’s not a virus.
